Stewart Youngblood is a 27 year-old entrepreneur, speaker, and advocate based in Dallas, Texas. He has been heavily involved in the creation and growth of the Dallas startup ecosystem since 2009, during which time Dallas has surpassed many other metro areas to be recognized as one of the fastest growing startup ecosystems in the United States.
Stewart was most recently Program Director of Tech Wildcatters in Dallas, TX. Tech Wildcatters is a Forbes Top Ten-ranked seed fund and startup accelerator that has graduated over 40 companies since 2010. He has presented to crowds of over 500 attendees on topics such as startup ecosystems, investor pitches, mobile development, and many more.
While at Tech Wildcatters, Stewart was responsible for and accomplished:
- Raising a $600k+ investment fund from individual angel investors each year (no government or university funding)
- Supporting the graduate companies in raising over $3mm in follow-on funding
- Helping companies to land over $1.5mm in customer deals while still in the program
- Being the go-to resource for companies during the program (help with biz dev strategy, operations, talent/customer/fundraising pipeline)
- Analyzing company applications to get into the program (hundreds of applications for 10-15 spots)
- Running the mentorship program (over 75 mentors and experts)
- Adding new key mentors from Dallas and beyond
- Adding new resources and relationships (Sponsors, freebies such as free hosting from Amazon, etc)
- Expanding awareness for Tech Wildcatters in the press
- Defending startups and technology companies from unnecessary government intervention (Uber, Lyft, and more)
- Being a voice for the Dallas startup community both within Texas and at industry events worldwide
